Isometric shoulder abduction with assistant

Stand tall with feet shoulder width apart. Raise your arm out to the side until it is parallel with the floor. Have a partner press down on your arm while you resist this movement and hold your arm still. Lower your arm part way down and repeat in three positions as you return to the starting position. Raise your arm up again then lower it while resisting the downward force from your partner through the entire movement.
